It is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral that forms the most splendid patterns and designs, often forming in botryoidal masses. When looking at Malachite, remember that it is never uniform in its patterns. It will have thin lines, thick lines, circles, swirls, and those patterns form in light mint to the darkest hunter green shades. It is such an awesome stone to look at, spectacular in all of its twisty turvy patterns. - Genuine Malachite will never just line in a similar formation and will not have black in it. Beware of some fake Malachite pieces floating around. 

Malachite is ideal for burning through the fog of emotional confusion that can prevent one from making conscious choices. It helps one overcome the abuser/victim polarity and find strength within oneself. Malachite can assist those who have many creative ideas but are unable to organize or act upon them.
