With a new year comes a new set of planetary retrogrades, and the first 2021 Mercury retrogrades is descending upon us! From January 30 through February 20. I think that by now, We have all heard it - "Mercury retrograde sucks". Most people dread it and many are scared of it. But actually, you can manifest during this period.
Mercury Retrograde will occur three times this 2021, lasting for a few weeks at a time. Whether you believe in astrology or not, the fact is that during a retrograde when looking from the Earth, Mercury does appear to be spinning backwards on its axis (hence the name Mercury Retrograde). This is an optical illusion caused by a difference in orbit. When Mercury is in retrograde motion, or simply “Mercury retrograde.” These times in particular are traditionally associated with confusion, delay, and frustration. Think undelivered emails, problems with your electronic devices , and delayed in travel plans.

What dates is Mercury Retrograde happening in 2021?
Although in 2021, Mercury will be in apparent retrograde motion during the following ranges of dates, keep in mind Mercury retrograde has a “shadow phase” which happens about two weeks before and two weeks after the planet’s backspin. In 2021, Mercury retrograde will have more effect in air signs Aquarius, Gemini and Libra.

TIP: Be extra conscious about your tech devices and do as much as you can analog. Double check that your phone is charged before going out, make sure you have backed up your blogs, emails, files in case of a breakdown, and avoid buying any electronics until the retrograde is over.
